Course Description
This course is intended to help students to appreciate how individual and group characteristics affect the behaviour of employees at the work place. The course provides students with a foundational understanding of the history and development of Organisational Behaviour (OB) theories and concepts. The body of knowledge focuses on how the attributes and behaviours of individuals and groups contribute towards a harmonious working relations and co-existence within the organization.
Course Objectives
At the end of the programme of study, the student should be able to:
a. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of organisational behaviour;
b. Discuss the contributions of other fields to the development of organisational behavior as a field of study;
c. Analyse how personality shapes individual behaviours at the work place;
d. Evaluate the factors that influence making judgement about others at the work place;
e. Evaluate the roles of ability and attitude in shaping individual behaviours; and
f. Assess motivation as determiner of employee behaviour.
